Merry Belated Christmas!

And a Happy New Year! Boy it went by fast! We had a great time at home this Christmas. We really enjoy traveling to celebrate Christmas with extended family, but boy was it nice to be at our own home for Christmas this year. We also enjoyed going to Christmas Eve services at our church, something we usually miss. My mom recently wrote a booklet called 'How Hannukah Saved Christmas." So, this year, instead of the traditional Christmas Story that we normally read on Christmas Eve, we read mom's book. She did a great job and the kids enjoyed it. This year Dean made our christmas card online. If you did not receive it, then we don't have your email address!

I think movies were the theme this year. We watched 'Elf' with the kids on Christmas Eve. Then Christmas morning they got 3 DVDs under the tree (The Pink Panther, National Treasure, and Pirates of the Carribean 2) that we watched with them throughout the week. Also on Christmas Day, we took them to see 'Night at the Museum' at the theatre. That was a fun movie. We really enjoyed it. For New Year's Eve we had friends over to play games and let the kids stay up to watch the ball drop on TV. We had a lot of fun, but I think we need some new games! Ours are getting stale. All in all we had a great holiday season, (although, one gift, it turns out, got accidentally thrown away! Hmph.)

Another activity that Dean did with the kids, is they dragged out ALL the legos we own. (including the ones Dean grew up with) They've been assembling them for a year and finally got them all out at the same time to play with. The room (200 sq. ft. bonus room) was FULL of legos. They loved it. I just want to make sure they all get put away.....

Here's a Roan quote to start the new year off: 'Mommy, if my brain gets wet, it will explode."

Happy New Year!

There is absolutely no back story. That's why it's so fun. He was laying down for his nap. Then just said that. Don't know where he got it or why he said it.

So it's "wrong" to tell the boy his brain will explode?
