A Fun Week/end

Alyssa got her new camera for her birthday. She’s very excited. She has even started her own blog!

Last Thursday, we went to the zoo for another members’ night. We had a fun time. The kids got to go on the carousel for free as well as a free viewing of the new 3D movie. We watched the gorillas get fed which was pretty fascinating. Then we got free cokes and dollar hotdogs. We also watched the lions/tigers get fed.

We even got to pet a snake and a chinchilla! Alyssa brought her new camera and had fun taking lots of pictures. It was fun doing this together, too! I hope she continues her interest in photography. It will be a fun thing to have in common.

This past weekend I went to Raleigh for Andrea’s bridal shower. It was very nice. She has lots of great friends and got lots of goodies! Amy was able to come, too. Together with mom, we had a bit of a girls’ day. After the shower we went home and had a fitting for Andrea’s wedding dress and our dresses, too. Then we went to lunch at a great little Italian place. After lunch we went to the mall because, (horror of horrors) Andrea dropped one of her gifts, mixing bowls from Crate & Barrel, so we took them back and they were very nice and exchanged them for her. Later that evening, we all went to mom & dad’s house for dinner and they showed us their pictures from their trip to Israel. That was cool. Sunday morning I went to church with Andrea & Jerry, then to lunch at a Mediterranean place. I had a nice weekend with my family, and it was nice not to have to worry about the kids, too, so thank you to Dean who had them by himself all weekend! They had fun, too. They went swimming and saw the movie ‘Ratatouille’. They said it was really good.

Dean also bought Kai a new bike (again). Yesterday, I took Alyssa for her new bike (again). Please pray that we remain in possession of these and that they continue in working order for the foreseeable future! We still have to fix the tires on Roan’s bike then everything should be in order.

Tomorrow’s July 4th, so Happy Independence Day! We will probably go to Fort Jackson as usual. More later!

Roan Quote: “Mommy when we’re in heaven, it will be a long drive to go to Target.”
